Frequently Asked Questions
When will I get my Product?
Ready to ship items will ship within 7 days (unless you are otherwise notified). Once they are shipped, it depends on the shipping method you selected. Custom items will ship within 14 days (unless you are otherwise notified). When I receive custom orders, they go into a queue based on order received. If there is a backlog of orders, you will be notified. Once they are shipped, it depends on the shipping method you selected.
How are my products packed?
All sculptures are wrapped in fluff and wrapped with tissue paper and string. They are secure in their size appropriate box with any pertinent marketing. This limits breakage during shipping to under 1%.
What happens if my sculpture breaks on the way to me?
There are 2 ways we can address this. The first way is I can send you my preferred super glue for your to do an at-home repair. I use Maxicure super glue. It is VERY sticky and excellent at repairing sculptures. This is the only glue I like to use and it is very fast drying. Only a drop is needed for small breaks. In the cases where breaks are more complicated and you’d feel better if I repaired it, reach out to me and we can talk about how to send the item back and have me do a full repair, free of charge.
What if I break my sculpture after I received it?
You can order the Maxicure I mentioned above and do an at-home repair, or if you’d like to have me repair it, you can pay for shipping to have it sent to me and sent back. If it’s a complicated break that will require parts or a lot of extra painting, there may be an extra charge.
What is my sculpture made of?
Each sculpture is handmade using polymer clay. Most sculptures are made from Super Sculpey but may be used from a number of different polymer clays including CosClay (which gives it more flexible qualities). Each piece is painted with acrylic paint and may be sealed with an appropriate sealer for the piece.
What is polymer clay?
Polymer clay is a plastic based clay that is easy for home artists and crafters to work with. It does not require a kiln to cure. You can bake the sculptures in a home oven to set them into their solid state. There are numerous different polymer clays available on the market, each with different attributes making them each good for different needs. How do I learn more about working with polymer clay?
Hodge Podge Art Studio is not just a shop, where I sell my handmade goods, but a community. I am working to build a community interested in art, especially polymer clay, and share my knowledge. In the Education section of this site, you will find resources that are constantly being added to. If you have any specific questions, please contact me and I’d be happy to help. I may even make a video tutorial based on your question!
